St. Kitts & Nevis

St. Kitts & Nevis – formally known as Saint Christopher and Nevis – is a two-island state in the Eastern Caribbean. Saint Kitts & Nevis was home to the first British and French colonies in the Caribbean, and thus has been titled “The Mother Colony of the West Indies.”

St. Kitts FlagSt. Kitts is covered in black and gray sand beaches, while sister island Nevis is nearly unspoiled in its natural splendor. Coral reefs surround the islands, beckoning swimmers and snorkelers from all over the Caribbean.

The capital city of Basseterre is home to one of the most prominent medical schools in the Caribbean: University of Medicine and Health Sciences. UMHS also has regional offices throughout the United States.

While tourism and agriculture have always been the main industries in St. Kitts & Nevis, the Citizenship by Investment program founded in 1984 has also become another pillar in the St. Kitts & Nevis economy in recent years.

Since gaining its independence in 1983, St. Kitts & Nevis has run under a parliamentary democracy with Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state. It is also a member state in the Commonwealth of Nations and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
