About Türkiye

Türkiye, officially known as the Republic of Turkey, is both a European and an Asian country, with cultural connections to the ancient Greek, Persian, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman empires. One of the world’s earliest permanently settled regions, it currently boasts more than 83 million inhabitants

It is surrounded by sea on three sides: the Mediterranean in the south, the Aegean in the west, and the Black Sea in the north. The Anatolian Plateau occupies most of Türkiye’s surface area, with semi-arid conditions. The country has more than 500 Blue Flag beaches. The weather and wildlife vary across this vast country, and there is much to take in no matter what part you visit.

Though Istanbul is the tenth most visited city in the world, Türkiye’s capital Ankara has been a historic site and capital since 280 BC. There are well-preserved examples of Roman and Ottoman architecture throughout the city.

Türkiye is becoming a popular hub for foreign investors, thanks in part to its ideal geographic location as a bridge between Europe, MENA, and Asia and stable economic growth as the 13th largest economy in the world. It also has a well-developed infrastructure in transportation, telecommunication, and energy. The Turkish lira is this country’s currency.

With 22 international airports, Türkiye has become a hub for travel and business, with many industries headquartered or started in the country, including many venture capitalist firms.
