Antigua & Barbuda Introduces Mandatory Interviews for Applicants

Charmaine Donovan, CEO of Antigua & Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Unit, has officially announced the implementation of mandatory interviews for all citizenship applicants, effective from 15th December 2023.

Commencing on the specified date, all citizenship by investment applications submitted to the Unit will undergo mandatory interviews. The interviews will be conducted for principal applicants and their dependents aged 16 and above. The cost for each application interview will be set at US$1,500.

For identification purposes, all members of the application, including the principal applicant and dependents, must participate in the interview and present the identification documents originally submitted with their application. These interviews will be facilitated virtually by independent service providers contracted by the Unit.

To ensure a smooth process, the Unit will coordinate with Licensed Agents to schedule each interview. This scheduling process will align with the existing procedure for virtual Oaths. While the primary language for interviews will be English, applicants facing language barriers may opt for interviews in alternative native languages.

Applicants are strongly advised to attend the interview on their designated date and time to prevent scheduling conflicts and potential delays in the processing of their citizenship applications.

This new policy underscores Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Unit’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the application process and enhancing the evaluation of applicants through mandatory interviews.
